The Church of Christ Care Center provides excellent, faith-based care for seniors in Southeast Michigan at each stage of their lives; independence, assistance, nursing; and in every facet of their lives; physical, social, mental and spiritual. We meet the special needs of the aged with special care. It first opened in 1941 as a nursing care facility for the elderly in local communities who could no longer remain in their homes. It moved to its current location in Clinton Township in 1977 and built a Senior Housing Complex for low income seniors in 1982. In 2002, they opened an Assisted Living Facility offering 3 levels of support services. There are many areas where volunteers are needed, including:

  • Activities – bingo, bowling, cards, crafts, sing-alongs
  • One-on-one visits with residents, possibly with appropriate pet visitor
  • Monthly birthday party
  • Special events and holidays
  • Resident hair care
  • Entertainment by individuals or groups
  • Outdoor projects – tending flower beds, washing windows
  • Running errands for residents

For more information about becoming a volunteer, please call our volunteer coordinator at 586-285-7137 at the Nursing Home and 586-285-6212 at the Assisted Living center.
