Helping Hands

The Helping Hands is a group of ladies who meet monthly to use their God given talents in an effort to bless others in their community and in foreign lands. They make things for local hospitals, shelters and other organizations. They also assemble Safe Birthing Kits for medical missions in Africa and Haiti and sew dresses and shorts for Little Dresses for Africa.   All ladies are welcomed and encouraged to join, regardless of skill level. The Helping Hands meet on the second Monday of each month beginning at 10:00 AM.

One of the Helping Hands group’s projects is to make decorated fabric bags to donate to area hospitals. These bags are filled with books, paper, crayons and small games and toys that are taken to  Children’s Hospital in Detroit for distribution to children in the Emergency Department.

The Helping Hands are always glad to accept donations of the following items for the bags. Donations may be placed in the box in the foyer.

8 pk. crayons

coloring books & activity books

story books

note pads

playing cards

Also, they are always in need of heavy duty fabric like duck cloth to use to make the bags.
