God’s Scatter Command
Genesis 1:28
- God’s expectations concerning the mankind’s ability to constantly strive to keep His Covenants.
- Genesis 1:28 – God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth (scatter) and subdue it.
- Gen 9:1- Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth (scatter command).
- Gen 11:4 – Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
- v. 8 – So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.
- God scatters man when man doesn’t scatter.
- Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (SCATTER COMMAND)
- The presence of Jesus reestablished the Scatter Command.
- Acts 8:1 – On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.
- God scatters man when man doesn’t scatter.
- God gives us, the Church, the Scatter Command.
